In place of her icy blonde mermaid lengths was a surprisingly flattering jaw-grazing bob and blunt micro-fringe, which sat about an inch above her eyebrows. Notable about the new hairstyle was the color—a copper-red hue strikingly similar to the one she shot to fame with, as Beth Harmon in The Queen’s Gambit. The new style could well be a wig, given that Taylor-Joy looks like she’s in costume in the snap.
The micro-fringe is having a moment – everyone from Zoë Kravitz to Alexa Demie has tried their hand at the look of late, despite the fact it’s notoriously tricky to pull off. A style that works especially well with a short haircut, Taylor-Joy offers a masterclass in making it look low key and cool by pairing it with flawless skin and a smudgy lash line.
