Summer is synonymous with ice cream and New York Times best-selling children’s book author and mom, Camila Alves McConaughey, is taking it up a notch this weekend with the debut of her Taco Sundae—an exclusive, limited-time ice cream pop-up in collaboration with Whole Foods Market to celebrate National Ice Cream Day. (The first 500 customers to visit the W Olive Ave., Burbank, CA, 3rd St, Brooklyn, NY, and N Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX locations on July 17 between 1-4 p.m. will have the opportunity to experience complimentary servings; customers can also shop the recipe ingredients now on Whole Foods Market on Amazon.) As McConaughey told us, the creative creation was a bit of a “family affair” that took feedback from her family and fused it with her own childhood inspiration.

How did you come up with your Taco Sundae recipe?

“It was a fun twist on the traditional sundae. I talked to my kids about the recipe I needed to come up with and they were like, ‘Mamma, we love Dulce de Leche and salted caramel.’ I looked around my kitchen and had the taco shells and that sparked the idea—we’re bringing our Latin flavor into the recipe!”

Besides ice cream, does your family have any favorite summer food indulgences?

“I would say Yucca Fries.”

What are some of your summer skin-care, beauty or SPF must-haves?

“Brazilian BumBum cream and BumBum scrub, Mila Mourisi Grand Ecran SPF 30, a lot of coconut oil for the body, and NUXE Sparkling Oil for the nights out.”

What are you most excited about this summer?

“First to go explore and adventure just with our family, and then to be with friends that I haven’t been with in a long time!”
